Friendly staff, treats you like family, the food is fantastic. Love this place for breakfast and lunch.

Food was very good!!! Service was slow but we were in a big group. Would definitely go back!

Oh my gosh this is so good! Home made cooking at it's finest. .. and the service was excellent. I had their homemade whole wheat toast with my shrimp and crab omelet YUM! My husband had their biscuit and yummy gravy with his omelet.We will definitely return.

I have been on a big pork chop and eggs kick lately. David's kitchen did not disappoint. As a matter of fact it is one of my favorites. Is thinly sliced breaded pork chop with gravy on top it's like chicken fried steak to the next level. Eggs were cooked perfect hash browns were full of flavor. Service was outstanding. They were even open half a day on Thanksgiving. I will be back.

Sweet local diner if your wanting a traditional breakfast, ie: Pancakes, Waffles, omlettes and such. Our waitress Joan kept the coffee filled as well as the hot chocolate, with a smile too. God bless

Live in Michigan and fround this diner on vacation, driving from LA to Monterey Bay. Service was good and food was amazing! Old style food cooked just right.Definitely reccomend!

David's kitchen is the only thing I miss about Atascadero. The food is amazing, the prices are very reasonable. David understands that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and he makes you look forward to eating it. Thank you David and your staff for making me and Ernesto feel so at home when we come in. We are gonna miss you guys when we move back to the East Coast next month. We wish nothing but the best for you and your family.

This place is legit. Great food and service. Large servings and my food came out perfect. Warning.......You will not leave hungry!

Great food and reasonably priced

Excellent homestyle cooking packed with locals so you know it's good. Super busy while we ate here so service took a little dip in quality but acceptable I approve.

Food and service is great! Totally skimpy on the onion rings though, like they were gold - but great stop to eat before Lake Santa Margarita prices fairly reasonable for the quality - hash browns could've been better, but my husband really picky about those.

Son & I enjoyed a late breakfast on his way thru town. He also ordered lasagna to go for later. Always good food & lots of good coffee.

David's Kitchen always serves it up when I come in from out of town. One of the best places in Atascadero.

Too bad zero stars are not allowed. Waited over an hour for food despite no new customers entering, and existing customers having already ordered. A quiche special was ordered and received, an hour later, as a tiny and lukewarm slice. It had obviously not made the same day. Remaining food was only mediocre. All overpriced for quality and quantity received. Avoid this place at all cost.

A nice place. Nothing fancy, and doesn't try to be. Obviously the haunt of a bunch of regulars, I think I was the only one waitress didn't greet with a personalized welcome.Would NOT let me get more than three sips of my coffee before she was back to refill. This is a good thing.Food was good. Gravy for biscuit and gravy was served in a bowl not already on the biscuit. Not had that happen anywhere else. I like it.Good food. Pleasant atmosphere. I look forward to a return when I pass through again.

I only get the biscuits and gravy or the waffle with fresh strawberries and whip cream, the two best things they have in my opinion lol
